INDONEWS.ID -- More than 300,000 people have contracted the novel coronavirus and at least 12,944 have died, according to a tally by Johns Hopkins University. More than 302 people have now died from the virus in the United States.

There are now at least 23,649 cases of coronavirus in the United States and 302 people have died from the virus, according to a CNN tally. This includes cases in all 50 states, the District of Columbia and other US territories, as well as repatriated cases. Here are the worst affected states: New York -- 10,356 cases, 53 deaths; Washington -- 1,793 cases, 94 deaths; New Jersey -- 1,327 cases, 16 deaths and California -- 1,200 cases, 24 deaths.

Previously, President Donald Trump ignored reports from US intelligence agencies starting in January that warned of the scale and intensity of the coronavirus outbreak in China, The Washington Post reported Friday.

Citing US officials familiar with the agencies` reports and warnings, the Post reported that intelligence agencies depicted the nature and global spread of the virus and China`s apparent downplaying of its severity, as well as the potential need for government measures to contain it -- while Trump opted to dismiss or simply not address their seriousness.

"Donald Trump may not have been expecting this, but a lot of other people in the government were -- they just couldn`t get him to do anything about it," the official noted to the Post. "The system was blinking red."

The CIA and the Office of the Director of National Intelligence declined to comment to the Post. When asked for comment on the report, White House spokesperson Judd Deere directed CNN to fellow spokesperson Hogan Gidley`s comment to the Post.

"President Trump has taken historic, aggressive measures to protect the health, wealth and safety of the American people -- and did so, while the media and Democrats chose to only focus on the stupid politics of a sham illegitimate impeachment," Gidley told the paper in a statement. "It`s more than disgusting, despicable and disgraceful for cowardly unnamed sources to attempt to rewrite history -- it`s a clear threat to this great country."

Several leaders have announced that their people especially young generations and whoever did not have urgent business has been ordered to stay at their home. Those protection is aimed to doomed Covid19 spreading. Anyone arriving in the state of Hawaii -- including returning residents -- will be subject to a 14-day quarantine.

The mandate, which is the first of its kind in the United States, will go into effect Thursday at 12:01 a.m. and remain in place until further notice, the state`s governor David Ige said.

Meanwhile, Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte announced that all "non-essential factories" must close as Italy faces "the most severe crisis since WWII." That restriction applies to any factories not involved in producing food or medical equipment. Speaking via Facebook live Saturday, Conte announced that the more severe measures were necessary due to the increasing number of coronavirus deaths. Italy has recorded 53,578 cases and 4,825 deaths.

Global recession

The “terrible virus” Covid 19 is predicted bring more hard work for humankind around the world in the next coming time, because until now nobody can precisely predict when the virus will end or stop. During a longtime pandemic Covid 19, its might bring several negative impacts for an international community in the next time. One of the terrible things is a global recession due to these viruses.

A global recession is on us and experts believe coronavirus could drag the world economy into a depression. The United State`s emergency stimulus package will help the workers hardest hit by the coronavirus outbreak, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer said. About 75 million residents of Connecticut, Illinois, New York and California have been ordered to remain at home to slow the spread of coronavirus.

Indonesia and other countries must prepare facing any possiblity neither negative nor tragic possibility if these virus does not tackle in short time, because if a global recession will come, Indonesia’s economic, social and politic will be hit, and the negative impacts is chaotic situation, mass angry, crowd queque to get food, water etc and until mass brawl or social conflict. Before everything is come, everyone must play positive role to overcome these virus through obeying government rule and order, more intensivelly praying at home and stay including calm at home with observing outdoor situation through mass media. Hopefully.
